At the Safe Birth Project, we’re all about making sure you have the information you want about your health and your child’s health. But wading through the medical terms and conflicting answers can be tough! That’s why we work with our very own doctor to make sure we’re providing the most up-to-date information possible. So without further ado, we’d like you to meet Dr. Calvin Fischer!
Dr. Fischer received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship at the Detroit Osteopathic Hospital. He’s been practicing medicine for over 40 years, focusing on Family Practice. Today, he is the President of Medical Staff at St. Alexius Medical Center in Illinois.
Over the course of his career thus far, Dr. Fischer has committed himself to making medical care safer for patients. For example, he spearheaded the formation of the Medical Staff Quality Committee, which regularly reviews physician conduct and provides educational services to help ensure that patients are getting the best possible care. He also serves on Quality Control of the Alexian Brothers Hospital System, monitoring the quality of care the hospital is providing.
